Danger Signs: Are You in an Illegal Relationship?

Danger Signs: Are You in an Illegal Relationship?

Here’s a wake-up call for girls who may NOT be AWARE they are in an #illegalrelationship…..

An illegal relationship among teenagers often refers to situations where they engage in behaviors that are not allowed by law due to their age.

This can include romantic or sexual relationships where one person is above the legal age of consent and the other is below it, making it illegal for them to be involved in that way. Although Different places have different laws about the minimum age for dating or engaging in romantic activities, but generally these laws are designed to protect young people from being taken advantage of.

Such relationships can be harmful because teenagers might not be fully mature enough to make informed decisions, and they might face serious consequences legally, emotionally, and socially.

Here’s a very good example.

Teacher-student or employer-employee relationships: In certain situations, relationships where there is a power imbalance can be restricted or illegal, especially if they involve coercion or exploitation.

Stay away from illegal Relationship cause it’s harmful and hurtful. Protect yourself, your mind and your body.

Stay Safe!

TGI Nigeria to Mark International Day of the Girl Across Six States.

The Graciella Initiative (TGI) is gearing up for the International Day of the Girl (IDG) 2024, with comprehensive plans in place to celebrate in Nigeria. The event will span 9 different communities across 6 states in the South-South, South-West, and North-Central regions, providing a platform to empower young girls. TGI’s IDG volunteers will gather around 1,200 girls, simultaneously hosting them in groups of hundreds, where they will engage in activities that focus on developing a strong sense of identity and purpose.

A key feature of the event will be a specially designed manual, created to ensure the seamless delivery of the message across all locations. This manual will guide the volunteers in delivering consistent and impactful programming, so that TGI’s mission for this year’s IDG is achieved, even across multiple locations. The manual reflects TGI’s commitment to empowering girls regardless of their geographic region, ensuring each girl gains valuable insights.

TEAM TGI NIGERIA

For IDG 2024, our mission is clear: help girls build a healthy self-esteem by fostering their sense of identity and purpose. Research by Magnano et al. (2023) highlights the strong correlation between self-esteem and career decisions, demonstrating that empowered girls with high self-worth are more likely to make confident career choices. In Nigeria, studies have shown that adolescent girls tend to have lower self-esteem than their male counterparts, making it even more critical to address these challenges early on.
Through this focus on identity and purpose, we aim to equip young girls with the tools they need for a brighter future. By elevating their self-esteem, we are not only shaping more confident individuals but also contributing to advancing gender equality. To make the experience even more memorable, we will be distributing gifts and souvenirs to all the girls, further enriching their day of empowerment. With this holistic approach, TGI is committed to making a lasting impact on the lives of the girls we serve during IDG 2024.

In an effort to advance female education in Africa, we are thrilled to announce our new partnership with Bethany Elementary School, a pioneering institution located in Ogun State, Nigeria, as part of our Advancing Female Education in Africa initiative. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in our mission to support underprivileged and marginalized girls, enabling them to access quality education and, ultimately, empowering them to create brighter futures for themselves and their communities.

Our Mission

As part of the United Nations SDGs, we strive to ensure that every girl in Africa has access to quality education, while empowering them financially (SDG 1 and 2) and promoting gender equality (SDG 5). Through partnerships with key stakeholders (SDG 17) and collaboration with NGOs, we aim to support vulnerable girls and create an environment where they can thrive and contribute to national development.

Partnership with Bethany Elementary School

Bethany Elementary School is the first German-speaking school in Ogun State, dedicated to building global citizens through immersive programs. Since 2019, we’ve enrolled marginalized girls under 10 in school, and this year, we’ve added three more, bringing the total to seven girls supported by our scholarship scheme.
